Clay dances to the tune you love to hum,

Clay grows into the person you finally become"

New To Blue

Meet the Team

At New To Blue, we believe pottery is about more than just making beautiful things—it's about creativity, connection, learning, and finding joy in the process. Behind the scenes, our small but dedicated team works together to create a welcoming space where people can learn, explore, and grow through clay.

Caeley Goosen – Founder

Caeley is the founder of New To Blue and the driving force behind the studio. A former Waldorf Primary School teacher, she established the studio from a desire to create a space where creativity could flourish and community could thrive. Today, Caeley manages the day-to-day administration of the business, including bookings, communication, planning, and the many behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the studio running smoothly. When she's not working on the business, you'll often find her in the studio creating her own work or facilitating private classes and workshops.

Sarah Brassington – Lead Teacher & Studio Manager

Sarah is New To Blue's Lead Teacher and in-house Studio Manager. Working part-time in the studio, she brings with her a strong background in primary education and the arts, along with a genuine passion for helping others learn and develop their creative skills. Sarah's journey with New To Blue is a special one—she first joined as a student, then became a studio assistant, progressed to a part-time teacher, and now leads our teaching programme. Her warmth, knowledge, and enthusiasm make her an invaluable part of the studio community.

Irene Chimombe – Studio Support

Irene is the quiet hero behind the scenes. She joins us each week to keep the studio sparkling clean, recycle clay, care for the plants, and help ensure the space remains welcoming and functional for everyone who walks through our doors.

Together

Together, we make up the New To Blue team. We are deeply passionate about what we do, the space we have built, and the creativity, confidence, learning, and connection that happen here every day. Whether you're joining us for your very first pottery class or have been working with clay for years, we're excited to be part of your creative journey.
